We’re delighted to announce that TOWN has been selected as a finalist in the Best of Development Company category of the 2025 Thornton Education Trust (TET) Inspire Future Generations Awards.
The Awards recognise organisations that empower children and young people, promote their rights and voices, and shape the places in which they live, learn and grow. Being shortlisted in this category highlights our commitment to engaging younger generations in how developments are conceived and delivered.
This nomination builds on last year’s commendation for our Child-Friendly Design Strategy developed for the Hartree masterplan in Cambridge, where we worked with children and young people, applied measurable design criteria tied to their rights, and embedded those into the planning application process.

At TOWN we have three guiding strands:
- Strategy – embedding inclusive, child-friendly principles into our policy and project frameworks
- Practice – working directly with children and young people via schools, youth groups and workshops
- Advocacy – sharing our learning across the sector, challenging partners to raise expectations for children’s needs in placemaking
Congratulations to all the finalists!
