Westwick Row Shortlisted for 2026 Planning Award.

Our project with The Crown Estate, Westwick Row, has been shortlisted for the Planning Awards 2026 in the Stakeholder Engagement in Planning category.

Westwick Row will bring together a resident-led cohousing community and homes for rent within a landscape of shared gardens, play spaces and green routes. From the outset, the project has been shaped through an extensive programme of engagement designed to give local people, future residents and renters a meaningful role in the design process.

The nomination recognises a nine-month programme of engagement that included more than 30 hours of in-depth workshops with local residents, renters and future cohousing members, alongside wider public consultation. Rather than asking people to comment on fixed proposals, the process invited participants to work directly with the project team as ideas were developed and tested.

Feedback from participants helped shape key aspects of the scheme, including the neighbourhood layout, movement and access, public spaces and the approach to long-term stewardship. Designers, client, future residents and local residents worked together throughout the process, building a shared understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the site.

The shortlist recognises the value of sustained, structured engagement in creating better places. By involving people early and consistently, the process helped establish clear priorities, informed design decisions and built trust throughout the development of the project.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in June. Congratulations to all the shortlisted projects!
